I am still at the novice stage with birds, but our first birds a few years ago were white Pekins from I believe Cackle...
They grew exceptionally fast, foraged better than my Mallards, and were very smart. They all headed for the coop right at sundown. I think they were ready to butcher at about 6-8 weeks. They never really put themselves in danger either, always VERY close to eachother and the drake was a superb protector of his girls. They always stayed close by. The downfall was they were nasty birds, pooped more than I ever imagined and like any duck made a mess in the mud - but worse!
