- here's the hard lesson-
Honestly every time you checked on this baby more humidity left the membrane and made it harder for him/her to hatch.
the really weak ones -don't- make it even if you get them out of the egg, if they -NEEDED- the help they die anyway, usually before two weeks old.
If you get them out safely and they don't die you were rushing it and they usually would have escaped themselves.
Under a hen is perfect for chickens to hatch, it's a little dry for ducks, removing the hen allowed the moisture under her to escape to the air...
please under a broody allow her to do her job, in in incubator rely on you interments to keep proper humidity and temperature.
read up about "lockdown", the hen or duck does that naturally, us humans rush.
it really is 8-72 hours for ducks, and 2-48 hours for chickens from external pip to fully hatched.
