Pekin X Khaki?

I read a while back they were doing a study and if you cross a Cayuga Drake with a Khaki Campell hen you get a good egg layer (don't remember about the meat end) but not if it you flip it to cayuga girl and kc boy.

Funny I found this thread, my husband asked what we would get if we crossed our cayuga drake with our pekin duck. I said I don't know, but it couldn't possibly be the best of both worlds... The beautiful cayuga coloring and the size (Sketchy is 11 lbs) and monster egg laying of our pekin (she's a machine, she quits for her molt and kicks right back in to an egg a day every day unless the temps are stupid high).

Now I really want to know.

Make sure you let us know what comes out if you do cross them. <G> I may end up with the other direction <pekin male/cayuga females> since I have 3 cayuga girls, 2 pekin girls and a pekin male but that's months off.

I will be finding out what happens with pekin/cayuga cross in 18 days. Wish them luck, so far so good.

Here is a picture of our buff X pekin baby. Momma is a buff and daddy is a pekin. We have two, one just hatched yesterday and both are smaller that a pekin hatch. I am anxious to see them grown. They really look like a sweed duckling. The newest one has more gold in its coat. Tracy from Indiana
