I ended up losing him. I know he was old and had a good life but he was our “daddy duck” that’s what we called him, hopefully his son will follow in his footsteps and take care of the ladies. He will surely be missed. This is the first time I have lost a duck with any kind of problems. I will keep a close eye on my other 4 just in case. Thank you guys for your help. He is the daddy to the 14 ducklings I hatched in my very first post ever.

You gave him 8 years. That’s awesome since I read once they give Pekins about a 5 year life span. But hey what do “they” know

This is his son Quazi his mom was Muscovy and my pekin his dad. It was her first time and she pulled a wing off and bite half of his beak off. I just knew he was going to die. But look at him now. He is beautiful!

I am so very sorry for your loss. My first duckling was a Pekin, he was special needs and I recently had to surrender him to a duck rescue/sanctuary. They are a great breed. You have a handsome boy to take on his legacy!!
