Hello!
My Pekins are 8 weeks old and already surprisingly big! They are now comfortable roaming around the entire yard looking for creepy crawlies to eat.

i now feed them Scratch & Peck layer blend, watery oatmeal, green veggies and a few handfuls per day of dried grubs.

is it normal for the head area at the base of the bill to look slightly yellow? They are very active. I think the yellowing may be a build up of oil since their “faces” were some of the first parts to go white.

There is nothing apparently abnormal with their feathers, and beak. A light yellow-tinge can be seen in some Pekins.
Thank you! My son is worried, so I decided to ask this fantastic group! I never would’ve guessed that I’d enjoy watching them so much. They get so excited to see me and follow me around the yard.

I feel the same way about my ducks. I had no idea how much I would love just watching them. But I could observe them for hours, and I do... Daily for 6 years now! We call it duck TV. 😃
