Pellets or crumbles?

I feed crumbles, mainly because I keep a mixed age flock (with serious variation in age) since it's 21% protein it's one feed for all (oyster shell available at all times in dish in the run with feed nearby) just what is working for me/us and much easier on the < 3 week old chicks to consume)

I prefer crumbles not sure what the girls prefer I ferement their feed (Flock Raiser 20%) so don't matter and all the dust gets used. But as Aceoky says one feed for all ages.

@aart - i love that feeder! my girls used to waste so much food when I used crumbles, we switched to pellets and though the pellets drop out of the feeder we added a mat/boards under the food bucket so it is easier to see and sweep up.
They would shake their heads and throw crumbles everywhere!! But, now I take the waste and bottom of the pellet bag and add it to my mealworm farm! they love it.
Here is my three tier (consolidated to one tier) mealworm farm. It is in the corner of my office, behind the filing cabinet, nice and dark (usually)
