Pellets or mash?

What is everyone's preference, and why, please?

Put me in the Pellet group.

- less waste, even if they knock some on the floor, let the feeder go empty for an hour or two and they clean it right up
- pellets come in more choices of % protein (at least locally here)
- less dust when pouring/storing feed

Crumbles. My girls just dump the feeder when it has pellets in it. They love the crumbles.

Pellets as they rake crumbles out with their beaks and it vanishes into the dirt.

I use pellets in the spring, summer and fall. I use layer mash in the winter. It takes a hen 1 hour to eat her daily ration in pellets, but it takes her 3 hours to eat her daily ration in mash. So it occupies them when there is nothing for them to do in the winter.
