When you incubate chicken eggs, do you not turn them for the first 24 hours?
I don't turn for the first 2 days(especially shipped eggs), and on my Serama eggs 3 days. Just what I do.

Sorry you had a lousy rotten day...Today WILL be better!Oh, is there a prize for answering the Marans question? You may send it right over. As far as pointing fingers for chicken Math, we blame MsLadyHawke. I don't even have to coach the kids, they encourage me to get more eggs, I say, 'what about Daddy?' And they say, 'oh, we can just tell him Michelle gave them to us.' Works like a charm, no one could hold a grudge against MsLadyHawke, she's such a sweetie. Yesterday was a lousy rotten day. I am trying to start today off right and you guys sure help. Thank you once again for making me smile.
Yes???Missy!![]()
Love this outlook!I do believe I remember him saying you could choose (1) 5 million dollars or (2) 500 lawyers sent to the bottom of the ocean! I hate rotten yesterdays. Thankfully they are always behind us. And for the record, rotten yesterdays can kiss my proverbial behind too! Today, however, is an awesome day! It can be anything! Like a bunch of nice people egging (no pun intended) you on to laugh and smile! Have a great day!
LOL...perhaps you should just be banned from the puter when orange juice is involved!OKAY guys.....I had a heavy orange juice moment. And just for future reference the BST forum is not a good place to wander into just like eBay.
I thought we had an agreement, heavy on the vodka, light on the orange juice. Sheesh.
That's the problem! I didn't use vodka! I used Seagrams VO instead! And fyi....that has more of a punch than the vodka when combined with OJ. I had a friend in Rotary ask me why I'm not sick while working at the hospital...it's a very strong Orange Juice regimen
You two are nuts...but we love ya anyway! Now I see the problem, you drank without me! Well, technically that would be my problem, but it is a "me world"! Feel better hombre.
I see girl (i think her head is turned) boy, girl (positive), boy! So you've got 2 of each!Isn't that what 'heavy' Orange juice is? What is the BST Forum.. do I even want to know? Oh, and I'm going with the 5 million dollars! First thing I'd do with it is get another coop! wait, No! a BARN, oh wait, a fence! There was a time in my life when I would hop on a plane with that kind of money…not anymore. No lawyers to the bottom of the sea!! They are WAY too interesting, and then who would we make fun of? The Wellie Babies!![]()
Broody Momma and her 4 Easter Egger babies. I THOUGHT they were all pullets, but the one with the reddish hackles….looking and acting rooish to me now.

Welcome to our little corner of fun! If you'd like to be added to the map so you can see where all the other crazies live...just let me know your zip!Lebanon Pa, just got into chickens. I have 2 bantams hens and a bantam rooster. No clue what breed.
Don't be frightened we call it madness, this is a friendly bunch. We promise.
Well...yeah...what they said!Except Chad. He will eat you.
Ahh...so since he's a he, you won't eat him, only the unsuspecting ladies! Gotcha!HA! I already met Eli! Went and got button quail from him yesterday! So blow it out your ear! LOL And his birds are bantams. The roo looks alot like a silver dorking. The one hen looks more like a feather shanked bantam langshan. That would be mama and RoPo's call.
If you get Barnie eggs, I'd be interested in going in with you....I'll even drive!I am so excited, I got my first Black Copper Marans egg today!!! It was soo.. dark compared to my other eggs, which surprised me because the egg she hatched out of wasn't that dark at all. Not looking the gift horse in the mouth though.I heard back from the BLRW lady and I can order them now. I think I will, but I have to do something with half of them, I can't have a dozen BLRW's. My goal for this spring is to add BLRW's, Barnvelders, & Cochin's. (if anyone close to me would like to go in halves and get 1/2 the eggs, or 1/2 the chicks that end up hatching, let me know). I'd be willing to drive a half hour to meet up. They are very pretty birds
.
