Thanks for the info!

I had to do a wood run. They are calling for snow. I hate wet firewood. Gotta love the Poconos weather, 50 degress to a few inches of snow!

Ours is the same out here in the middle of nowhere.

Here is another interest for you all in the South Central Pa area that would not mind a drive down to Westminster, MD. We should be having the Penn State Poultry 101 in Harrisburg coming up this spring. Will have to check to see if it is open to the public.

John, if you hear anything on the Poultry 101 let us know...we called last year specifically asking for something along those lines and were told that PA does not support the backyard flock. Now, Chad has gotten us alot more positive info.

Eli!! No you didn't!!

Sorry folks, a glass of wine has made me feel the need to comment on every post. So I am.

BTW. Got the rest of the Orpington Run roofed today and the run cleaned out (it was a cess pool).

Lost my phone for the majority of the day and missed 3 (THREE!!) calls from the school! Hence the glass of wine. Arrrrgh!

A glass of wine sounds heavenly!

HI Faeryrose
All by myself in Somerset County.

You're not all by yourself!

To the untrained eye, this may seem to be garbage. It's looking like free feed for my goat friends to me! I am NOT above prospering from a dumpster dive every now and again. They kids are going to disown me if I try fitting another 8 foot tree in the car with them.

Guessing they think they're tasty? Want mine? LOL....still need to take the ornaments and lights off...ugh.

Oh no, I checked my coop tonight and was expecting to find an egg, and there was just a yolk, no shell! Is that normal? It was by my entrance not even near a box!

I am the worst with chickens! Gaaaa:(

Nope, totally normal for new girls!

Eggs with no shell, small eggs, funny shapes, double yolks. All somewhat common with young birds just starting to lay. Just their reproductive system getting sorted out.
Assuming they have calcium available.

Sure! LOL Send me your address...I'll send you the save the date!

Thanks for the invite! I was just kiddin!

I had a mental picture of one of your relatives coming up to you and saying that there were some crazy people out in the parking lot swapping chickens out of the backs of their cars, you say, no those are my friends from BYC and she says is that a mental institution??!!
.....cause you know if this group gets together, there will be chickens in the back of SOMEONE's car!!!!

Ok great! Yes I make sure they have everything they need! At least they say I have everything when I question them at Davis Feed with my million questions! Lol

So excited for you Ms.ladyhawke!!

My Christmas tree eating Lily goat has a 'date' tomorrow. I NEED a truck!! For now she'll have to ride in my car, perhaps the pine needles will neutralize the goat urine.

OK... so they make a chicken diaper.... why not one for a goat? LOL

I'm sure you could come up with something... just make sure it's head is tied so it can't eat it!
