Hey all. i have a question. My one bird has what I would call a pasty butt. It look like her dropping stuck to the butt feathers , is this normal ? if not what do I do about it?

Funny thing about it is that when I first got into fly tying, I was eyeing up the fluffy feathers on a few of our birds...so I said to fisherlady "go get the scissors"...when she came back with them I was holding a hen under my arm with her butt sticking out and said to fisherlady "clip a few of these really fluffy ones, I have a plan for them"...of course I got the "WHAAAAT - you're crazy" stare.

Sold 5 silkies last night, and my first ever hatched from the pen!

DH was like, I cant believe you just sold that chick! He said if I sell the cochin I just hatched he knows I lost it.... Seriously!

He tells me I have too many and then complain when they are gone!

I have a doz silky and cochin eggs in the garage I am collecting and I told him I could sell them and he just shook his head and walked away.
but turned around and said if I even TOUCH his brahma I am DONE!

Its time for feed delivery and every little buck counts! his chicken/eggs could pay for MY feed for a friggen year!

Yeah, I need to get a pic of him in the sunlight. The shade does him no justice. The only thing I would say about them negative was as youngsters they seemed to be dirty all of the time. They've gotten better now, but my whites always stayed pristine, and the Lavs a just looked dirty. I was regretting getting them, thinking they'd stay that way, but they didn't. They're really beautiful now.

Crap on a cracker! I went down to the basement just now to bring fresh water to the 2 chicks that I got from the NYD hatch...and one of them is dead! GAH!!! They were fine yesterday! So now I have a lonely only! I was going to move them out to the little coop inside the big coop this weekend....guess Tyler will be going by herself.

Nerves wreck here. last time I gave a chicken a bath It ended up dying on me... I don't think I can lost another.. So I only bathed the bottom half of her and left her head wel away from any water. MY GOSH talk about racid smell....
