Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

No, they weren't. It was all windy last night so I assumed they were under the porch on opposite side of the house. Still no signs of them yet
Sounds like maybe they headed for better shelter somewhere during the storm. Hopefully they will find their way home. I lock all my waterfowl down at night & let them out each morning (they are all penned separate for breeding purposes) so they have a safe place from predators at night.

I will be there! I have a name tag from the MD swaps.

I am having goose issues. My ganders are arses. I put Beau in time out because I caught him trying to jump a duck hen and the drake on her at the same time. Now I know how all my ducks keep getting hurt. Now the other one is doing it (Beau is the boss). I can't separate the ducks and geese because I have no place to put them. I should have put the geese in with the ducks while the ducks could have still bossed them around and the geese wouldn't have the upper hand. My goose is fine, it's the two ganders. So, I am going to put both in the freezer and look for another Toulouse gander that's NICE. Or raise one better. I should have spent more time with them. I should have done a lot of things different with them.

I have two ducklings hatched and another one still wiggling in the egg! Why I am hatching more ducks when I can't stand brooding them, I don't know. Ugh! I was happy when I sent the last 4 outside!
I have a pair of toulouse & just hatched 2 babies from gablebabble's eggs. I have 4 more of hers in & 4 of mine but so far mine haven't been fertile. I may be looking for another gander soon if you would like to send 1 my way. The boy I got them from claimed they were a proven pair, but I think he lied. He had another gander there & betting he was the daddy. My different breeds are all getting their own pens very soon. Right now my 2 geese are penned with 7 pekins, but all of the ducks are getting new pens in the next couple weeks & the geese will keep the pen on the hill.

I was busy all day, getting my second coop ready for my second flock I hatched out over the winter, I have a handful of cockerels if anyone wants them, there mixed breeds , if I dont hear from anyone by sunday night there heading to the 84 auction washington county.
I need info on the 84 auction please. I'm only an hour from there & have been considering going.

The fav and silkie hen are so cute! all tucked in to the dog crate in the barn for quarentine. The fav hen was NOT happy about the move i guess as she was probably telling me off the whole time i was putting them in. Boy was she loud! Funny though, cause they didn't make a peep the whole way home. Thanks again Beaglady!! Your birds are beautiful!

She is not going to be happy. Hoping he stays friendly and gets along with my BCM roo the same age. (maybe becuase they are growing up together? or does that not always hold true?) If not, he will have to go.

I don't know if it's 'always true'.... but last year our batch of chicks had 5 roos and they were all pals. Greyson quickly established himself as head roo and the rest didn't push him about it. We eventually reduced our numbers because it was rough on the hens, but the roos didn't have problems. Any skirmishes were short and minor.
ugggg..... wondering....

I got a notice that occasionally State Farm Insurance comes to inspect property's for homeowners, they will be here anytime in the next 90 days.

How will my coops and chicken play in this "visit" suggestions anyone run into this?
Not familiar first hand with any insurance inspection problems... but safe bet would be to reduce or eliminate any extension cords at time of inspection and make sure area is clear of tripping hazards and flammables. Any medications used for the animals should also be placed up out of reach in cupboards or shelves.

I want to do this, who's with me ???
Looks like a good time to me!

Looking good!
Wishing there were more livestock auctions in our area. The only one I know of is a monthly one about an hour from here. It is 90% amish animals...
