A coop. I had found 2 coops on Craigslist and sent them there they found one that was slightly more, but closer and exactly what they were looking for.

La la la la la! I caaaaan't heeeeeeere yoooooou! They're way cute but I'm sticking to large fowl. I'm probably going to move my BC Marans into the layer flock so I can concentrate on the cuckoos, Ameraucanas and Faverolles. I've resisted a couple other kinds I find intriguing. Maybe I've grown up? And I let the scovy ducks out of confinement today. They were so happy, and flew to the pond within minutes. I hope they stay safe, but I can't see making them stay cooped up and sad looking forever just to make it happen.

That's how I feel about seeing mine stuck in the run. They look at me like "Mom, how come they can play outside??"

I am posting pictures of the Mottled Cochins!!!  Is anybody feeling like they want one?  I just can't get enough of these cuties.  I can't wait to hatch some of my own chicks!!!!

I am feeling the same way Heather. I love all my bantam Cochins! I have 3 blue mottled hens and a blue mottled roo from Ms. Bear and several black mottled chicks from her too. LOVE them!!!

I keep a calendar on top of mine. On the set date, I list how many of what kind of egg is set. Then I mark the hatch date on the calendar right away. 2 weeks ago, I still screwed up and had a couple chicks hatch in the turners. Now I put a piece of styrofoam egg carton with the set date marked on it tucked into each tray. So far, so good.

I write hatch date on the end of each egg before setting. No more errors unless I forget to look at eggs while turning.

I was marking the eggs themselves (2-3 each set, and each set has it's own tray or trays). It was working, but then I got lazy and thought I could just remember on my own. Yeah, okay. So far I haven't had anyone hatch in the turner because I candle every week. Now, this will be a setting I get confused on because I just set on Saturday and I have to set again tomorrow night. I am getting way more eggs than I had planned.

If you have more than 2 hatch dates set at once you will never remember. I have adout 10 dates right now running in 3 bators. I HAVE to write the dates ON the eggs or they get all mixed up.

I am posting pictures of the Mottled Cochins!!! Is anybody feeling like they want one? I just can't get enough of these cuties. I can't wait to hatch some of my own chicks!!!!

I could possibly be persuaded into getting back into Cochin bantams.

Injecting once a day, for five days. I don't have any Vet RX. If the Tylan doens't work, I will move on to more desperate measures.

You can also use regular old Vick's Vapo Rub (the people kind) & just smear a little under each wing.

I usually have silky chicks available but not in bulk, I think there is a blue and a silver/blue partridge left until next hatch.
