We named our daughter Mikalyn. It just happened to be the year McCain and Palin were running for office. I was joking when I told my wife and she liked the name. The funny this is, I am not a political person.

It is Rey - vawn.  That's why Dewey said no.  He wanted Raven, like Raven Symone.  I didn't want it to be "normal".  Oh well.

And Sally, that would be Stevie Ray Vaughn.  :)

Bobbie, you need to change it to " RaveHen" lol

Rayven is a badazz name. How did I not know this? I like unusual but pretty names. Gave all my kids awesome names regardless of anyone's opinion. But, like screen names, not everyone gets it. So much lost in text, I think, but when you hear it spoken, it's beautiful.

I am a horse person through and through. I just don't have any at the moment.
Being the horse person I am, I named my son Devon after Devon-aire riding attire and Devon, PA where they hold the super horse show. I actually wanted Makenzie's name to be Sorel (Sar-el, like the herb) Morgan - you know, a play on sorrel (the color) Morgan (the horse breed). Yeah, Dewey was NOT going for it.

Some people don't "get it" even when you speak it. My oldest is Talon... the old daycare lady always called him "taylan"... umm, no, TA-LON, like the bird claw or the car... Drove me bat **** crazy!! I had ACTUALLY wanted to name him Talisan, but everybody revolted and threw a major fit because it was a "girl's name"... I had actually made it up as a modified version of Talisian, but a year or two later, came across some greek god *note, NOT GODDESS* with that name... So... he's actually named after a Diablo II character that a friend had a good 15 years ago... Talisian, but modified to Talisan and then, finally to Talon to shut everyone else up. Kind of wish I hadn't to be honest.

During the summer and spring, I feed once per day, at bedtime. Yucky days, I feed morning and bedtime. Night feeding only encourages free-range while wild foods are plentiful.
I've always fed only at bedtime. For exactly that reason. When I open the coop, the food comes out.
I have heard a couple of stories behind some of the screen names on here. Anyone want to share how you came up with your screen name? Mine was easy my name is Eli Weaber and I was tired the night I signed up on BYC, so eweaber is was.
My given name is Melissa. Missy was my nickname growing up. D was my last initial until the first. CPC is Certified Procedural Coder. (Medical Billing) So missydcpc. Those that I met at the York show heard that my other screenname is shortened to GG. I've used that screenname for so long that my best friend's children call me Aunt GG. I've had friends for years who have on occassion hadto ask my given name. And others who use my given name and then when they're talking
I'd be curious to hear how it tastes if you do try it! Could name it Cock-a-doodle-brew!
LOL! Great name for it.
