AWESOME!!!woot! just got a raise at work![]()
I'm not sure, but here is my guess.. 1). The cream leg bars are expensive because they are newly imported to the US (2 years now?) and it it extremely expensive for the importer (Green Fire Farms) to get them here, so they, in turn, pass the cost on to the consumer. 2). Yes, it breeds true. 3) the question that you didn't ask, why don't we just make our own, if we know what breeds make up the Legbars? A: many years of crossing and record keeping went into the development of this breed, it would be tedious and time consuming to replicate.. this is my best guess.I need an education on Cream Legbars.....here's the wiki definition: The Cream Legbar is an autosexing type of chicken. This means that you can tell the sex of the chick at hatch, and they breed true. The Cream Legbar originated as a cross between Brown Leghorns and Barred Rock with some Araucana blood in them. This is reflected in the crest and the blue eggs that they lay. The egg colour is usually blue, though some will give olive eggs so, 1 why are they soooooo expensive...? none of the breeds that they are made up of are that rare..... 2. since this 'breed' is a hybrid of other breeds...does it really breed true ? and I remember somebody mentioning purple eggs....anybody know anything about them? Thanks in advance!
