I like the Idea of raising my own food!!
My first marriage we almost bought a small place outside of West Milton. It was 11.10acres. Huge old farm house, dairy barn, chicken coop, milk house, small orchard stream and most of the land was fenced in and two silos. I would have been REALLY dangerous! You can bet your tuckas that I would have had all kinds of animals!

Is growing asparagus hard? Want to try it but don't want to wait 2 years to harvest :(Are onions easy to grow? Considering onions and potatoes for next year.
Asparagus isn't bad. You can buy aged roots. Buy some now and plant. Let it flower and next year you'll have a few sprouts. Onions are super easy! You can buy onion sets or seeds. I planted both. Yellow onion sets and planted the whites from seed. Thin out a few and eat them as spring onions and leave a few to save and keep for winter. Potatoes I use barrels or bins. Plant in the bottom and keep adding soil as they grow. Barrel of potatoes and dump it out at the end of the season. OR bin. 4 posts like a compost bin. plant them in the middle. add soil and a board as it grows. Once the potatoes are reaching the top you can start pulling a board or two off at a time and pulling potatoes out.

As for onions I had so many years of lame onions and I don't know what I did but I've been gettig some good onions the past few years. I think the trick is completely weed free loose soil.

do you get many this way. I always just put them in the ground

Thats where I live. I would make sure you are getting what you paid for.Lol! Some people/ places here can be shady >.<
It was through 1800 pets which is based there - most reviews have been good on them so we'll see. I got roxys (the ferret) food from some other place online last time and couldn't remember it - kicking myself for that now - and it came 2 days later.
