Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I use sevin dust in a nylon and dust her down, you need to do entire area and change bedding, you can use a liquid mix and spray in the coops.
i like the idea of the nylon...going to have to give that a try..I use a baby-powder bottle & kind of do a gentle "poof"..hahaha..you get the picture. Spraying would be kind of hard right now with the temps...does that stuff freeze? OKay..that is a dumb question...sorry.

went to the grocery store and got salad for the chooks for FREE..how did i do it, you ask...simple:
**I wait till the bag salad goes on "special" of manager special..cause it has a day left till it can be sold...it is .99 cents...I have coupons for these salad bags..1.00 off 1 bag..there you go..free salad for us & the birds..they actually paid me to get them..cool huh?!

I try to do this a lot on the produce especially...we just don't eat it fast enough to warrant spending full price anyway...

So happy the temps. are up!! Birds are enjoying the run between the rain and I can give them FF without a solid block forming...they got some dog food mixed in with their stuff today...got some real happy girls out there!!

Quote: IMO.....DE is great for prevention but I would not use it for a treatment..
DE will help prevent but won't get rid of parasites once present. I use ivermectin.
I agree for sure, if I could afford to only use this I would instead! and at some point WILL only use this!

and I would think it would dry fairly fast in the coop.
Some just do the walls in the coop and then dust the boxes and floors then they dont need to wait for it to dry.
No question is ever dumb thats why I ask a ton of them at every turn! lol

We are constantly telling my daughter "Ask all the questions you want...but please wait until the end of the movie." Lol...she has a bad habit of 50 million questions about a movie that the movie hasn't even answered yet so no way we can answer either.

Chickens are getting a big head of cabbage for Christmas so they can play cabbage ball-----you know the game when the cabbage is suspended by some rope from above and the girls take turns at pecking at it..........fun!

A new BIG pinecone of peanut butter and birdseed and cracked corn and raisins.........also on their holiday list.......

and wait for it.........

A cleaned out coop since its gonna be so warm!

I think they have it pretty good!

I have also begun the process of gathering wood and ideas gradually for a new coop building project.

I really want to get some day old chicks in the spring and will need a big and better coop in the spring as well.

Cant believe I am going to do another building project!
