I'm looking for rabbits! Three maybe four, one Buck, two doe, maybe three. Californian or new Zealand, if possible. I can't make it to the dragon or roots because I work evenings. Anyone know any breeders? It would be nice of I didn't have to travel far from 17552.

It has never been a pleasant task for me to put down any chickens. I have been around chickens my whole life (I'm almost 40). While growing up my parents had a custom chicken processing business at one point, even with all that exposure I have not found it to be a pleasant experience to kill a chicken. With all that being said, I do enjoy eating the meat that I have raised myself because I know what I fed them and it won't be harmful to me.
 
Well, Belles Springs on-line inventory of "bargain" barns didn't impress me with the "deals". Any other shed stores besides the big box stores? Dang, I really need a truck first.

Me too. As a teenager I killed dozens of chickens. I had to kill a very sick rooster last weekend (I think the winter cold did something to him, but I couldn't risk it spreading). I was for the best, but still bothered me a lot. The alternative of letting him go downhill until he finally died might have been easier for me because I wouldn't have been the one deciding his moment of death, but it was better this way.

Of course, it helped to buy them from a girl who likes to pamper and tame her birds. We got out black marbled turkeys from her too, and they are so tame they fly up and land on your arm if you turn your back to them. That's really a bit unnerving because they look like black turkey vultures peering down at you!

Anyway, we are very happy with them, one of those great CL deals. I hope we get a lot of eggs from the hens and they have good fertility, I think having a dozen or so NH hens would be a good thing.

It sounds like you got them from the young lady that started this thread. She had some beautiful NH, and turkeys too. She got them from porters. I could of been somebody else, but you never know......................................

PASRBA show is next weekend. You will probably be able to find what you are looking for there. So people sell there culls for a decent price to breed for meat rabbits. The show is at the main exhibition hall at the Lebanon Fairgrounds.

I saw that, but its my weekend to work and there its a big sports event, I think. Ian sure it won't be easy to find someone to work for me. Darn work, why can't I be rich, or good looking? ;)
