has anyone here used a food dehydrator?

I am thinking of getting one

As I am planning a big veggie garden............I thought I dehydrator might be useful in case the yield is too much at one time.

I know freezing and canning are options too.........

does anyone have experience with dehydrators and have some insider info to share to someone new to this type of thing?

thanks in advance!

Haven't used one to do veggies yet. But I fired mine up for the first time last night to dry pasta, and it worked magnificently.

On a related note, pasta seems to be a good way to use excess eggs. Did up a batch of ravioli for dinner and the freezer, and tossed the rest into some angel hair which was dried and put up into the cabinet.

A buddy of mine works at Longwood, and one of his co-worker who lives on site needs to find a new home for his flock.  Anyone here able to help?

Oh boy. That's near me...looks like the student housing over there. Wish I could help, but I need more chickens to care for like I need a hole in the head. I will post that on our 4H site, though.

Yeah. Most of the student housing on Red Lion are gone. That's where my wife lived for her internship. Your help is much appreciated; I'd take them myself, but I'm already short on coop space, and suspect I'm already pushing our township regs with the dozen girls I've got now. :-/

I just asked my BIL if he has a truck for that Longwood Garden chickens + coop deal. I'd pay him for the gas. Worth it!

Good for the stupid S O B! Lets soup up a rooster by cutting off its spurs and tying razors in place of them and then wind them up and encourage them to fight while we.stand closely by to make sure neither of them back down.
Tell me what MORON thought this was.a good idea for an illegal sport.

Stupid stupid people. Karma finally got one at least.
