Where do you find this stuff??  You do realize that you are my prime source of weather information....  I have an app, but it only tells me what's happening within 2 hours, and sad as it sounds...I can never remember what channel the weather station is...sooooo Then there's you!  thank you SgtMom :)

This comes from a small South Central PA forecasting group called S&S Storm Chasing & Forecasting Team.   They have both a facebook page ~  https://www.facebook.com/SsStormChasingAndForecastingTeam  and a website ~  http://www.ssstormchasing.com

They have been right on almost every storm this winter and have come out with the information far ahead of the local news or even the US National Weather Service.   They have been predicting this storm for over a week already, while the others are just starting to mention it.  They also said there could been another one coming around the 7th or 8th ~ unknown snow or rain yet.

Some of the local news forecasters have criticized them for coming out with major snow forecasts too early ~ I would rather be told there is a chance of a lot of snow and then not get it than have them wait to tell us until the last minute and then have no time to prepare.

I'm right with you on wanting to be able to be prepared. I hate that they wait till the last minute.

Incubator is plugged in and is getting up to temp.. Yay! I am getting so excited... Oh yeah, need to calm down, will still be about 23 days till I have chicks..... But then again, why not be excited! Lol Sorry.... Chick fever you know.....

Just a heads up for the folks that have orders at Pickering Feed, was in there today and there is a bunch of chicks available!!!

Thanks Stake, I called before I saw this post, and I heard they have chicks. I'm off to get my chickies!!! Wish me luck! I have company joining me for moral support/fun time/ stock up on feed. (As I'm writing this, the resident birds *parrots* are already saying Peep Peep Peep Peep! Wonder if they will pick up the chickie peeps. :D

:weee :weee :weee

Away we go......!

Hatch update!
14 are in the brooder, 6 more still drying in the incubator. Not bad for starting with 27, almost 75%, even after that nightmare power outage.

Can you count all 14?
There is 1 New Hampshire and 1 Breda Fowl in there somewhere, the rest are mixes. The "chipmunk colored" ones clearly have some Welsummer blood. The blue ones have a splash breda as their father, and either a breda or barred rock as their mum. The 5 yellow ones, I have no idea where that came from. I think their father looks like a RIR, but must have some wheaten genes too.

The fun of hatching mixed up chicks is you never quite know what you will get until they hatch and get fluffy.
