At what age can ducklings be put outside with no heat? They are 70-80% feathered...and stink!!!
They are 4 weeks old now.

On that note, when can my chickies go outside and stay outside all day and night? They still seem fairly small and fragile. Although now my biggest weighs more than my parrot. Pardon the mess in the picture:

Oooo!  He and I would be rivals!  I went to Hughesville.  ;)  I did actually go to Muncy for one month of kindergarten.  It's nice that this year there are a few more local chicken people this year.  We lost a couple off the thread since last year and gained some, too!

My poults were marked to call.  They did, but I was still at grandpap's.  Dewey should have lied and said I was on my way so they never would have been put in the mail carriers vehicle.
All the poults are doing great now!  So freaking cute!  I love the little poults.  I swear, if turkeys laid all year round, I'd give up chickens and have a property full of turkeys.

Glad to hear everyone is better! Why do you say you like turkey's better? Just curious...

LOVE the parrot! (Chick is cute to of course). My husband and I want an African Grey. Maybe someday, after our Husky passes on. Can't trust her around birds obviously.

silkie..

that old english guy that I keep just for eye candy, picked a fight with the dominique rooster today, and I would say the little guy won.......see... size really does not matter...

my house is getting emptied of chicks and ducklings this weekend, my kitchen is housing the east indies, they will go to the grow out pen tomorrow, and my basement is housing 50 freedom rangers and the tsc ducklings, they will all go to the barn brooder this weekend, the meaties in the barn will go to the muscovy pen,,( i sectioned off a spot for them).....empty nest syndrome here, til the hedemora chicks come.

I am making plans to go to the special saturday auction at root's,,, never been to this one, are most of the buyers the usual meat buyers that are there on tuesday...how does this compare to their regular auction??

Check Craigslist when you are ready. They are always parrots in need of rehoming. We got this little girl (?) for free from someone who found her outside after her owners "decided" they didn't want her and "released" her into the wild -in October, in Pennsylvania, no less. People are so stupid and cruel sometimes.
