Some of my onions are left from last year that I didn't dig up. Spent all winter in the ground. They'll be fine. I've had sugar peas under inches of snow. Also should be fine. The other year I planted them in February and they lived.

Just curious, do they winter better if left in the ground, some of ours (a lot of it) started to sprout this winter and got a strong smell and taste.

Maybe we should just leave them in the ground.

Nothing planted here yet

They are only good as spring onions if left in the ground. They are biennial plants, so it is kind of word. The ones left in will form a couple spring onions. The stored ones sprouting is the same thing. I rarely dig and store, they don't keep well for me. I just enjoy them fresh.

I just happened to look outside and the white junk was coming down already! I didn't realize it's dropped like 20°since this morning. I had to go drag the greenhouse in on my own. That wasn't pretty. I was hoping to wait until Hubby got home from work to help me.

Not chicken related but farm related, gotta tell this cause I thought it was funny..
Shared my lunch last night with a co worker, she never asked what it was till 10 minutes after eating, all I said was BAH ......she quickly ran to the bathroom andwasted that perfectly good lunch..?
Some people just do not know what good food is..

Olive oil, rosemary, mint and pepper, grill over high heat. Don't overcook. Even my Greek friend says it's some of the best.

The local giant often has it on managers special. Must not be many lamb esters around here. Guessing there will be some this weekend, even more after Greek Orthodox Easter. (Edit: same date this year)
I want to try smoking a leg of lamb if I can get one cheap enough.

No one wanted my dandelion salad last week. I gave up telling people what I'm eating.
