Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

They have arrived! Our little Buff Orpington's were delivered to our house at 2pm today! Hubby's not home yet so I played for a little while until I had to remind myself to get back to work!

Olive oil, rosemary, mint and pepper, grill over high heat. Don't overcook. Even my Greek friend says it's some of the best.

The local giant often has it on managers special. Must not be many lamb esters around here. Guessing there will be some this weekend, even more after Greek Orthodox Easter. (Edit: same date this year)
I want to try smoking a leg of lamb if I can get one cheap enough.

that's where we got ours. The only reason we got it was because it was on sale. We got a leg, rubbed it with lemon juice and coated with rosemary and garlic then roasted it. We made a sauce or if the juices, chicken stock, red wine, onions, rosemary, parsley, and chives. It was HEAVENLY! scary thing is, I'm not a cook lol but I follow directions really well :)

No one wanted my dandelion salad last week. I gave up telling people what I'm eating.

we tried dandelion last year and didn't really care for it though we may have picked it too late. We did dip the blossoms in cornbread bater and deep fried them though. THAT was good :)

Try steamed dandelion. Must be young growth, once it starts flower shots, it's too late. Cook like spinach or greens and drizzle with vinegar and bacon grease. To with chopped hard boiled egg.

Please do not gather the greens from a roadside or anywhere it may have had weed killer or such applied.

Plantain is also good.
Yes, I enjoy eating of the land. I call it spring tonic.

If only I could find a stream I may access that has watercress. The one I used growing up are polluted or posted. I miss a fresh watercress sandwich. The store stuff just isn't the same.

Thanks for the advice :) I have to figure out what watercress looks like. Our neighbor has a running stream and pond that we could look for it. We're trying to learn what we can use from the land around us more now that we live out here :)
