Oh my yes! We love our bees! We have 1 hive right here in our backyard, and 2,soon to be more in other locations. All we do is strain the honey, we would rather have it that way, my hubby is also going to try comb honey this year. Our chickens in the past have enjoyed hanging out at the hive... Snacks:p
Lol my husband is the main beekeeper, and is allergic! As he says, what fun is a hobby if there isn't a little danger.....

bees are a future project for us and we can't wait. We just started with chickens though so once we manage to get that down and sell our old house, we'll be moving to bees!

Anyone in need of a cheap old junky house? You could rent it out lol

Where are you located? We love talking bees and letting others come see the hive :)

Same with us and Hampton. I think that is where my cousin (lives in hunters town), gets pizza from. We have gone thru there when going to Apple valley and taking "scenic" routes

Now that you mention it I think a pizza from Little Italy sounds perfect for dinner! I am familiar with Apple Valley and we live 7/10's of a mile off the Hunterstown/Hampton rd. I've gone on a couple of "scenic" drives down in Littlestown too. My mom likes to Yardsale and we've been lost more than once in your neck of the woods.

What kind of chickens are you rebuilding your flock with? We are fairly new to chickens I have 2 serama hens given to us by a neighbor, 2 SLW's that are 6weeks and came from the Agway in W York, and I have 5 Double Laced Barnevelder eggs in the bator due Monday, those were shipped so I'm not gonna count them just yet. We have had Peacocks for 19 years and have 36 of those.

Yay!! The new thermostat is here for my incubator. Now just have to get it installed and get a thermometer and give it a testing out. Don't have a turner for it now, put it in the borrowed one.

  I have a good...bad issue, well for me bad cause I am not doing the "chick" thang at the moment...
Hen-Bree is broody..not just "oh, I think I'll sit for a little bit here"..oh no...she is all out CRAZY broody..and she isn't even sitting on ANYTHING 99% of the time, sometimes she will sit on someone elses egg...she is not laying, she has de-feathered herself on the underside to 'soften' the nest, she will just sit there all; day ....so I pick her up, she stays in that "i am sitting on something" position until she get's the motivation to go and eat..peck around a little, get a drink..and poop the most stinkiest, green thing I ever saw:eek: :sick ....yep.
I am trying to talk DH into may be getting something at TSC.:smack ...we are getting our meaty and turkey pullets on the 3rd on May...Does anyone think she would "mother" them for a bit??..maybe help to snap-her out of this craziness...We aren't going to do anything about her until we get back...like, maybe separate her from the rest, and try to coax her out of broodiness.... ....If anyone has any suggestions...BESIDES..more birds...geesh:p ....I would love to hear them...Thank you-Danielle:)

Yep, wing has eggs :)

I went to my friend today and he gave me 18 fertile hen eggs, and he gave me 3 fertile duck eggs as well and I don't want them to go to waste, as I also wanted to hatch them so what do I do, can I hatch them together or what.
(I have a sixty egg incubator so space isn't a problem) Help!

Ducks just take an extra week, bump humidity about 15% higher than you run for chicks for lockdown, & be patient...duckies can take a full 3 days to hatch once they get started.

Serama only take 19 days!
