No, I do not worm my birds. I don't see worms, I don't treat for worms. If I let the cats near them, I would be more concerned. The cats may be used to dogs, but since moving in, the cats have pretty much stayed out of the yard. I guess Sturgis is enough to keep them at bay.
Bruce, the bird in question is a Red of some kind. Guessing Red Star. She is from a feed mill. The poop varies, but is normal according to the poop chart. I thought they were molting, and maybe she is. A slow molt if anyone is. No bald spots, but I had a ton of down around the nest box about two weeks ago. Now I am finding some nice feathers laying around (but that could be just the chicks as they are growing.).
Out of curiosity, can chicks have a growth spurt in a few hours? I swear to tell you that the chicks all got huge after eating the pumpkin oatmeal (Popeye with spinach) this morning!
Red seems to have a problem with my sneakers. I have boots, but sometimes I just don't feel like putting them on just to grab a feeder/ waterer. It was the laces he started noticing this past week. Never noticed them before. Guess as the only care taker now, he is taking the job of husband very seriously. I am still holding him, but I am also not wearing my sneakers. It was stupid anyway. I wear them to TSC.
