Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I put the water in because it was very hot and momma is with them. She needed water and I didn't want her not to have access to water. :( I just have to hope they will be ok tonight. i put a butt load of rocks in the chick waterer so I hope they will be ok. I can't wait to see if I will have 3 more chicks tomorrow. They are babies and need to be worried about. Momma will take good care of them. She bit me like 20 times today lol.

Sounds like you're doing everything right!

Looking for a central PA local chicken feed supplier, organic and soy free, of the quality that I'm used to with scratch and peck. Anyone have suggestions? I can't figure out how to search a thread to see if this has been discussed already!

I am trying to reduce my poultry workload, due to starting a new job where I will have less spare time.

The trio of splash marans is still available (and free)

I would also like to find a home for my flock of blue Swedish ducks. There are 5 - 2 male, 3 female. They're 2 years old.

Shoot me a pm in interested in either.

Those ducks are tempting but they would be a challenge, is it true that they do not breed true, meaning blue to blue will not get blue...genetics again, I may someday get it.

OK.... I now have another 2 broodies... surprise, surprise...

these are both first timers... but at least one is not going to give up, and I'm pretty sure the second one isn't either, since she is the last of my group of SPRs and the only one who hasn't brooded yet this year, and 3 of her sisters are on brood #2 already...

So... I had a horrible hatch with the White Leghorn eggs I had gotten from the breeder... so I still am in search of WLH eggs if anyone knows of anyone who has them. They don't need to be show birds, just good old fashioned leghorns, but they do need to be pure breed. So if anyone can think of any sources for me please let me know, I really don't want to go a normal hatchery route.

Sorry, I no longer have leghorn, just a note of caution though. When I was breeding white leghorn I found that they are a breed that does not travel well, neither eggs or chicks...
