Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

LMP, Most likely the heat, I have a few Orpington that never lay in the summer..

As for bags, I keep an eye open at the dollar tree, they often have the 2 gallon size, I also order on line in bulk, but you need to order by the hundreds, so not practical for most...

Most of your restaurant stores online will also sell freezer bags, Lancaster city also has a cheap restaurant store, forget the name, will post when I remember
okay!! Thank you for the heads-up on the dollar tree..I like that place!! I can replace "stuff" cheaply there!!..especially the chicken-stuff...
We will see what is around...I do know a few peeps in the restaurant biss..never even thought to ask them...duh

Ditto on my buff orp girl....she's going on three(+) months....occasionally she goes into the coop and hangs for an hour then gives up.....

and my twelve week old baby roo is being a PIA...not only crowing, has the other baby roo intimidated and is chasing the other young girls around the yard.....they are at 12-14 weeks....little fud pucker won't mess with any of the big girls though......(would like to see that)

I processed my 2 broad breasted turkey jakes last weekend. My 2 girls will be going soon, still a little small. I didn't weigh them but they didn't want to fit into the 2 and 1/2 gallon ziplock bags.

Turkey's are tough to bag up, I use freezer paper and unscented trash bags( the thick black one's)

Just putting this out there.

For those that want to buy farm fresh meat instead of raising it.
I have a batch of 50 Cornish broilers going in on the 14th, will be starting the processing around labor day and after.

None of these are presold so I thought I would offer here first.

Yes yes yes! I would like three and and friend of mine will take two please (I will pick up for her). Your birds were so gorgeous and I appreciate even the "extra parts" in a little baggy in the bird. I will be enjoying the chicken on my salads all week... Yum yum yum. Thanks again for your hard work in raising and processing them.

Thank you , it is great to know that others also enjoy homegrown, chemical free food......chemical free is the reason I started all this.

DHetzel, THANK YOU!! We now have some broccoli! I followed your advice and cut off the lower leaves to stress the plant. Now I just hope it hurries up and matures so I can harvest before the bugs do.

Very nice head starting there. If you see any white butterflies around it, start watching for the cabbage worms.
