Most coops need ventilation more than being "draft free". I wouldn't think much of a draft will happen there, but I can't say for sure. If there are large gaps on the side of the prevailing winds, and they are up where the chickens will be roosting, I'd close them off, otherwise leave them be. You can always lean something against the outside during the worst part of winter if you think it's a problem.

just too add on, you can always use weather stripping if you are just patching a few big gaps......

The Blue Swedes have finally arrived from Beaglady courtesy of Fisherlady transport!!!

Here is the first meeting of Sewdish and Indian

I'll be separating them as soon as I get the new area finished. Food poisoning this week slowed me down. Not sure I'm keeping the runners and I don't want x breeds

Thanks again fisherlady for the help!!!! It was awesome to meet a fellow BYCer

Is that one of those movable electric fences, if so how do you like it and is it hard to move?

It was great to meet you also! And I had the pleasure of getting to meet beaglady also so I had a win/win!

If you know me, you know I wake up at about 11 each day (I know, I know, bad habit if I wanna be a farmer). My dad had to leave the house early today, and woke me up at 7. We have a family of robins in a bush that we've been watching grow up. He woke me up and one of the first things he said was "One of the baby robins tried to fly amd lamded in the water well thing outside the door. I walked out the door to leave and saw it struggling in there so I put him in the grass and he's shivering. I figured you'd probably know how to help it." So I climbed out of bed amd scraped the crust from my eyes and went outside to see a little fledling in the grass shivering in the penguin stance. I grabbed him and put him in a box under the brooder lamp. I would have let him go if it was warmer, but it was only 60 out and he was freezing and in shock.

There he is. I was scared he wasn't gonna make it from shock, but he just chirped pretty loud from his box.

It is
The things about 9 years old and starting to fall apart. But I love it. It's very effective. How well it moves depends. That's a 100 ft fence and a total relocation works best with 2 ppl. But I do it alone in about an hour it the ground isn't cooperative and I have to pound stakes in. I use a solar charger on it from TSC. You'll feel the zap but it's not like running into the cattle fence. I hoping to scrape pennies up to get a new one next year

poor little thing. at least he's warm now. hopefully he'll be able to fly away. when I was young I kept a sparrow until it was able to fly again.

I released him once he was dry. His bum was still a little damp, but he was dry everywhere else. I let him go right be his nest, and he hopped away like a kid yelling for his mom in the store. As far as I know she hasn't come back, and it's making me really nervous. I called my dad and he said that his brothers and sisters hopped the opposite direction. :( I'm nervous she's mot gonna come back. It's been an hour now.
