These are both simple hinged options...first is a flat roost set up and second is angled like a ladder. both rest on blocks at the end away from the wall and both use eye bolts to hold it in the lifted up position to clean under it. Can be framed out of 2x4s or 1x6 deck planking.

Sorry the angles aren't too accurate...just sketched it out in pen and I am at work so I don't have my graph paper.

Where is the least expensive place to buy canning jars. Not going to try auctions or yard sales around here, I know better. Tsc seems to be the best price I've found, any other ideas?
(certain things need to be canned, not frozen, like cantaloupe and watermelon rind)

her first olive-egg... She is only 16 weeks old so I wasn't expecting it so soon.
Congrats! That's incredible!
I'm in south central PA! :weee
Welcome!
Agreed, not as good as you would think, and it takes up so much more space. Anyone ever tried one of those circular knives that runs down the whole ear in a single pass? Seems like it might waste a lot more, since not every ear has a uniform cob diameter.
I have one and I like it, but mine is vintage - antique and I'm not sure if they've made them "better" now (Aka worse and cheaper). Wing, if I lived closer, I would process for you!

we found that around here the "Family Dollar" is the cheapest..unless someone has them on special somewhere else...12 jars(a case) with lids/rings around $8.99- maybe a little over 9.00 with tax...Oh, and by the way...the word on the street is 'Family Dollar' is being bought by 'the dollar tree'....just in case you wanted to know..

Question time people! My chickens all seem to be healthy and happy and starting to lay nicely. However it seems like a few of my girls have a little bit of poo stuck on their fluffy butt feathers. I'm concerned about vent Gleet. Is it possible that it's just a little diarhea sticking from when they drink a lot of water on hot days? Do your chickens all have sparkly clean butts?
