Our schools were closed again today. I am glad they are taking this seriously and putting the children's safety first. The police don't know where he is and he can be living anywhere. It's scary. He went to my son's school and he it was reported that he wants to do mass killings.

My heart breaks for the families affected by this sensless act of violence. I hope they get this guy soon before anymore inoscent people are hurt and/or killed. You never think that something like this can happen in your own backyard.

Oh no. The broody bug is spreading here. One of my silkies is trying to go broody now. I guess all these young ladies feel that it's time. u Just wish I could get it through their heads that it's FALL not spring! I've booted Cloud's but out of the box twice today but she keeps insisting. I'm going to have to give her some eggs tomorrow lol

Husband changed jobs and works 6 days a week, his only day off is Sunday and we are in a Mennonite area so working on a Sunday is a no no..

I have about 12 roosters that need processed and a pen of 50 meat birds that need done within 2 weeks... I really can not get everything done alone and need help, I do not want to push the husband for help, he is on mandatory 10 hour days for all 6 of them till Feb...

If anyone can lend a Saturday hand I would send you home with meat ( chicken, rabbit, duck, quail, turkey) or straw bales or something....
......head hung in shame.....never thought it would be this hard to ask for help and admit that I can not do it all..

wish we were closer, bill and i would be glad to help but i'm sure someone will help, thats what chicken people do, help each other.

One broody jumped to cover another egg laid...I gave her two more to sit on,,,,,,I am always interested in testing fertility ....but, its seems too late in the season and most of the hatches won't be in line with with any breeding program....c'est la vie......

School is closed again tomorrow. Tonight they had a huge man hunt for him again. They evacuated the town and told people to go to the municipal building.

I don't like guns and thought about carrying while taking care of the animals. I am in a wooded area but don't think he will be hiding in my yard. Think he would be more by his house and his parents house. There are state lands by his house. This is so crazy I hope they get him soon. Don't like living in the uncertaintly. I am trying to be careful, paying attention to noises that you wouldn't before.

Oh, there will definitely be a man cave...you know we will need a giant field stone fireplace for smoking meats and I'm sure we can arrange to have it in a large shelter with open sides that have drop down shutters to keep it comfortable even in cold weather! and there will be a couple of utility garages for equipment and I'm sure we could partition off a nice size room for 'cave use'!

I tried to send you a PM but my signal is not cooperating at all and it's not showing that it sent. My husband and I will be out your way tomorrow to pick up feed if you could use our help at all. We don't know what we're doing so you'd have to teach us but if you could use us, let me know.
