There's a chicken in my house that hells at me every time I try to move her away from the baseboard heater to put her in her cage..

She needed a good foot cleaning to find out why she was limping, to cold out so she had to come in...problem with this is that I live 3 miles away from the farm...was really hoping I didn't get pulled over or even anyone look in my car since I stopped at the store on the way home... ain't everyday your passenger is a chicken, she sat calmly on the seat and was sleeping when I came out of the store...

Now to get her caged for the night, she really likes that heater

Do you have any idea how often I've had cages of chickens in my car when I've stopped at stores? Most every time I do one of those things at tsc I stop somewhere. Never had anyone make any comments that I remember.

You should see the looks I get going thru the drive thru for lunch on the way to/from a swap meet. I think the funniest was the day I went thru KFC with cages of birds sticking out of my trunk, a box of babies beside me on the passenger seat & a cage of juveniles on the back seat beside the kids. I think every employee in the place had to come look while I was waiting at the window to get my food & 2 of the girls had to pet baby duckies...lmao

Well they do say memory is the first thing to go.

I have definitely gotten looks while traveling with roosters crowing, I often forget they are even there until we pull up to a red light in a small town.

It seems Midnight has a guard dog in the coop lol. I was feeding them this morning and Cloud had her troop, which are 6 weeks going on 7 weeks old, with her eating from the "warm" bowl in the coop. Midnight called her babies out to eat (they're still in the dog crate in the coop) and Cloud was pacing outside her crate. Well a couple big girls came into the coop to see what was going on and Cloud chased them away from the babies lol. She's such a mother! She wants Midnight's babies too! I feel good about her protecting them too though. A little extra protection for them would be great and make me feel better. On the babies ends, Shackles is the biggest of the babies and has been spending more time with the big birds. He's actually about the same size, if not slightly bigger than Chip and Cookie, our two game bantams. Cookie would've been squished by her own babies by now if I'd let her keep them lol

..anyway..

Have a question for all those with incubator/antique knowledge, or anyone who would just like to pipe-in..haha..
I have an opportunity to purchase an old incubator..it is LARGE... thin & rectangular...i would think it would have to sit on top of some kind of stand..
Here are some pics...i have more pictures if you need..whatever you could tell me about this, I truly appreciate!..

no idea, but it certainly has the cool factor. If it was cheap enough I'd get it even if it didn't work as a decoration or to repurpose as a side table or something.

Danielle! This is the coolest ever, does it work? I agree with Ray, a decorative addition to the homestead even if it doesn't work.

Two of my cockerels got into it yesterday. They usually give each other a dance or so, but no blood drawn. These boys are usually cooped together. This morning my main Roo, Tom, is beaten badly. I do not think he's going to make it. I'm so mad at myself for not separating them yesterday. Tom is great with the ladies and my large Splash Orpington Cockerel, he's also never aggressive with people.
