Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

It's snowing pretty good here. Already have one inch of snow. Let out my layer girls today and the rooster came out and looked at the snow and looked at me and looked at the snow and looked at me like it was my fault that stuff was there lmao. My silkies refused to come out of the coop. It's going to be a long winter.

I can totally picture exactly what you are describing, mine do it also! I do love the attitudes when they see the 'foul' weather!

We're heading out in a bit to let our birds out and pick a turkey for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see how they all react to the snow. I'm thinking we may see some attitude as well because we already have 3-4 inches!

This is the snow in our back yard. Not as much as some of you got but the kids are still so excited. The chickens, not so much. I opened up the coop and they looked out the door and turned right back around lol. They area NOT going out in THAT lol.

This may be cheating but the kids wanted some snow forts lol.

Daughter is thrilled that it snowed. She lives in FL now. Medical issues I referred to are long gone, son is healed/cured. (Car accident with broken leg and knee ligament surgery & Hodgkins.) We made it back safely from the airport. The girls are NOT thrilled with the snow. Neither is the dog. She does not like getting her feet wet.

Then they are almost guaranteed to be coturnix, the Japanese quail. They come in various color varieties, like chickens (but not nearly as diverse), but all are treated the same. For meat or egg purposes, people generally get one of 2 varieties that are somewhat larger, the Jumbo (normal brown color) or Texas A&M (white). The other varieties are smaller and lay smaller eggs, but still edible of course.

It seems like a perfect match to get your Dad's birds to CC while he is convalescing. Once your Dad is better, you should offer to get some back for him. I think having animals to care for can be a very good thing for mental recovery.

Offer back?

Of course I would always re-enable!

Guess I better build some pens, looks like I'll, at the very least, be hatching quail. At least I almost have the rabbit pen redesign almost finished, just need the automatic water system.

Thinking about applying at the local TSC, does anyone think this may be a bad idea...I may be better off at a grocery store though, we spend less there..

Your practical experience would suit TSC to a T! The hours would probably be more humane also... I doubt full time or OT would be available, at least not for a while, so the checkbook may suffer a hit but the environment may be a lot better for your mental health!

Have you been talking to CC about my mental health, it needs a lot of repairs...:idunno

Not sure if flexible hours would work or not, would be nice to work some days and some nights, more of a combination....may not be to bad to the pocket either. A 4 minute drive instead of a half hour, the yearly price of steel toed shoes. More time at home allows time to garden and can( I miss these things). You see where I am going with that... time translates to money, just in a different way than most think..

Either way, my mental health as you put it needs to have a change.
