What is everybody charging for eggs? I have been giving mine away to friends but now other people are wanting to buy. I was thinking $2.50 a dozen. Does that sound right? Thanks ahead for your help.
depends on your area, around here backyard eggs are common..
i would charge whatever your market will pay

They seem to be priced anywhere from under $2 to around 4, depending on location and demand. Where I am there are at least 4 people within a mile with chickens, so prices aren't very high, maybe $2. Closer to the right subdivisions, they charge more.

My nephew's family eats 5 a day, my brother two or the more, so I I've all mine away ( until it's hatch time, then I keep a lot)

Since my incubator is running for quail eggs...

And since I was savg eggs for someone who decided they want specific breeds, not just cheap to hatch....

Threw two dozen in today, even though the humidity is high due to the quail needing higher humidity (so I'm told). Worst that can happen is no hatch.

Hello out there Pennsylvania. I am not a Pennsylvanian but a student a WVU and a native of Southern WV. I am currently looking for 4-5 roosters for a study I am doing for one of my classes and have posted on the WV thread and figured seeing as how close I am to Pennsylvania I would post here as well hoping to not offend anyone since I am not from Pennsylvania.

I am looking for 4-5 Rooster of mature age prefeablely game stock and 1-2 other them standard meat or layer stock birds. I am doing a breed comparison study to see how different types of rooster habitat with hen of completely different type. After my study I will take the roosters to my home farm in the southern part of WV where they will be placed in pens with flocks of there own breed or flocks of experimental/mixture breeding.

Thank you very much for your time.

just a warning... I would get chicks with feet problems when running a high humidity....i found the quail did better if incubated the same as the chicken eggs, no special treatment.

Also far away from you, but welcome to the Pa head! We aren't very exclusive here. I'm sure someone not far away can come up with something!

I'm sure some here would also like to hear of the results of your study when complete.

And many here wouldn't be offended by extra roosters going to freezer camp. ;)
