My brother in law is in the process of starting his own business. While he works on his website he is selling through Etsy. He can make any type of custom sign. He is working on one for my coop right now. If your interested check out his page and contact him. I am in live with this rooster trivet. You can even personalize it with your name or a saying of your choice! https://www.etsy.com/listing/221784065/rooster-shaped-trivet?ref=shop_home_active_8

Funny sight this morning. My Silkie Roo trying to mount my bantam cochin. She is not laying yet, and there is just too much fluff so I don't think anything will happen...yet.

But if she happens to go broody after laying some fertile eggs in the spring, who am I to stop her?

On that note, do you guys think its possible that my Roo can fertilize my bigger girls? My Australorp is quite a fatty patty.

I can feel the chicken math...

I had a bantam Cochin cockerel successful fertilize a large fowl Orpington, to say she was accommodating would be an understatement. I'm not calling her 'loose', but if he was within 15 feet of her, she squatted.

Has anyone seen this book yet? I got it a couple years ago. I love chicken and it actually has some good recipes in it. And it's just hilarious...

I found my Valentine's day gift!

I've had both Orps and Welsummers, and I'm here to tell ya...ORPINGTONS rule! :Di may be just a teensiest bit biased.

She is a beauty, what color variation is that? If only I could have a couple more chickens...

She is a poorly marked partridge (but I love her anyway). :love

:gig. I just realized when I was out there (sneaking home on a "lunch break" to check on my chickens) my Silkie Roo is trying to "call" over "his" girls to show them some banana. He's getting there.... :D

She is very beautiful.

In other chicken news... Hennifer Lopez laid her first egg the other day since he fox attack in October. So I consider her fully healed and back to her normal self! Yay! And Mary Poopins, my BA with the terrible molt just laid her first egg today since her molt. It was a big one! :yesss:

Don't you love it when there's a hold up in the nest box? Someone was laying an egg an Hennifer Lopez was on the back porch squawking and squawking because she wanted to lay. She ended up in a big blue IKEA bag on a shelf with cleaning bottles in it. (This stuff is out on our back porch from our kitchen renovation). Silly chickens.

searched and found it on amazon, you can get it as a set also with this book, think I just found someone's birthday present. all jokes aside, I looked at the preview and this looks like a really good book to use all those older roosters....there's a triple book collection also, that pairs up the veggies with the chicken.
I'm going to tell my husband I want this book. .... before I show him the picture of it haha!
