Funny sight this morning. My Silkie Roo trying to mount my bantam cochin. She is not laying yet, and there is just too much fluff so I don't think anything will happen...yet.
But if she happens to go broody after laying some fertile eggs in the spring, who am I to stop her?
On that note, do you guys think its possible that my Roo can fertilize my bigger girls? My Australorp is quite a fatty patty.

Has anyone seen this book yet? I got it a couple years ago. I love chicken and it actually has some good recipes in it. And it's just hilarious...

. I just realized when I was out there (sneaking home on a "lunch break" to check on my chickens) my Silkie Roo is trying to "call" over "his" girls to show them some banana. He's getting there.... I found my Valentine's day gift!
She is a poorly marked partridge (but I love her anyway).
She ended up in a big blue IKEA bag on a shelf with cleaning bottles in it. (This stuff is out on our back porch from our kitchen renovation). Silly chickens.
I'm going to tell my husband I want this book. .... before I show him the picture of it haha!searched and found it on amazon, you can get it as a set also with this book, think I just found someone's birthday present.all jokes aside, I looked at the preview and this looks like a really good book to use all those older roosters....there's a triple book collection also, that pairs up the veggies with the chicken.
You could just use one of those chick feeders that screws on to a mason jar. Same basic thing.this is cool, wonder if I could retrofit it for chicken.. I do have 1000's of mealworms
