I am so glad you were able to save her eye!

I will take a picture for you tomorrow of the exact bird, but they are buffs. Here is a pic.

Glad your fav. hen can still see, my favorite from a few years ago got killed by a weasel, no saving those,...
And I love brahmas, those buffs are just sooooooo aborable, i also love birdies that have the columbian pattern,

Time to stop playing and now time to get off to work. Gotta keep a roof over my chickies heads and food in their bellies.

Thanks ya all, I was just mad, I tried... kids n daddy buried him....

I put Halo and the two mixed silks in with the four remaining of the last hatch and so far they get along fine!

I am beat now, blew all the leaves, mowed, cleaned up all the dog doody, winterized the pool, cleaned the coops, cooked um oats, cleaned the brooders, cleaned the rabbit pens, cleaned the whelping box, brushed the mutts, cleaned the house well the basics anyway, and sooooooo on.... all while hubby sided the coop and replaced the stearing in the truck.... COLD had to start the coal stove for the first time!!!

Oh GOOD stuff today too.... Puppies eyes are starting to open and they are starting to walk on all fours alot better!!

That is my Miss Molly!!

Orpingtons ~ arent they a touchy breed as far as health? a friend has a ton of chickens and he is ALWAYS having issues with his whites, I think in a year he went from 6 to 1!

Brownie, I will get you that picture tomorrow. Have to make a run to Pittsburgh now to take my daughter to the doctor.

Anyone know what the temperment is on blue orp? I had two buff orp roos and got rid of them both cause they tore you up everytime you went in to care for them. One time I even sent my choc. lab in with me, yeah, well they fogged her first. Poor thing, all she did was tuck her tail between her legs and cower to the ground. It was a bad idea, I had to save her from those nasty roos instead of her saving me!

Do you know if they were hatchery stock? If they were, they don't care about temperments. My Orps are like puppies. I will say I am having trouble with the Silver Laced Wyandotte roosters. I am going to get one from Foley's. Hopefully that will nip that in the bud :- )

The only issue I am having with my one BO, Pearl, is that she is now into her third "broody" spell since March of this year. You can see by my signature that I only have four girls, no roosters. So, I really have no use for so much broodiness. Coincidently, I have two others molting, so only one egg-layer at the moment.
