Am I the only one that find this all humorous?

I should add, I'm a printer and my hands and clothes are always stained multiple colors. I've also had several run ins with blu-cote, so I'm laughing with, not at.
I cringe as I did when I read the kids "The Cat in the Hat" and all the pink that spread around. I do giggle since this is totally what I would do. I think I will not choose to dye anything in the near future. :)

i didn't realize we could lock-down and still have eggs in there only a couple days into it...always good to learn something new..

i stopped turning at lock-down..obviously,.. but then it was the first time i hatched anything and was trying to be very pro-active in the hatching..hand turning 3 x's a day, because I don't have an automatic egg-turner....I would love to do it again, it is so amazing to watch..i don't think that would ever get "old"..
I don't think it ever gets old either, I hatched my first 2 chicks when I was 6, this past weekend for the Easter HAL, I hatched 97 !!
Hatch day is loads of fun, but the next day, when I look at all the brooders and wonder what I'm going to do with all of them, can get a little weird. So far I've managed to find homes of some sort for all of them.

Of course, when they are little, they are much easier to find homes.

..i know what is it like to see all those little peeps in brooder tubs... walking into TSC or whatever local farm store on their "chick-days" and watching all that fun running around, BUT now taking all of them home with me is quite another story...hahahaha, "a little weird" would be an understatement..

I would like to use the incubator again, just not looking to even get close to the numbers you are so generously willing to play with

...i have a little "wiggle" room for extra birds...not including the cornish X's & a rooster...because as you already know..they don't count

1 silver grey dorking
1 buff brahma
1 buff orpington
1 columbian wyandote
1 barred plymouth rock
1 double laced barnevelder

All 10 arrived alive. We had to nurse one of the bantam cochin back. It was weak but with heat and some sugar water after a few hours she seems to be acting like the rest.

Yes, it will work fine. Eggs really only need turning the first 2/3 of the cycle. I learned that from an online presentation from a professor of poultry science at the Univ of Arkansas. It was a great presentation, but I didn't save the link and can't find it now.

well geesh..some help you are now...;) ...

I actually continue turning all eggs not in lockdown until I see the first external pip when I do staggered hatches.
