Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Are any of you Pennsylvanians located in New Sewickley Township? It's western PA just outside of Cranberry Twp.

I'm close... about a half hour or so west in Beaver County in Ohioville. My hubs works in Conway. What kinds of birds do you have? We just started last year and chicken math is really taking hold this year. I actually had to stop hubs from bringing home baby ducks from TSC last weekend!

The meat birds and turkeys are going outside today, finally have the new tractor just about finished. Still no sign of baby bunnies, but I don't want to dig around in the nest too aggressively.

I don't currently have any birds. Long story short, short of paying an exorbitant amount of money and going before the Zoning Hearing Board and trying to get a special exemption, the township is trying to poo-poo on the idea of me having them for my own personal use. Idiotic....yes.....because I live on 60 acres and my closest neighbor is 200+ yards away through the woods, and the majority of the township is agricultural in nature. Hence trying to find somebody in my township that might have birds who could help.

Ridiculous. Especially because I have friends in downtown Pittsburgh who have chickens. I'll never understand ordinances like that. "So, I can't have chickens on my 60 acres in this agricultural township, but drive a half hour into the city and I can keep a couple laying hens". Sorry you have to deal with that nonsense.

Hello everyone!!! I have been away for a while. And finally this weekend I got back out to my barn and cleaned it all up! My remaining 3 chickens are super happy and 1 duck, last survivors from a racoon attack. :(

Anyways, getting back on a schedule and looking for 2 more LF chickens, a blue egg layer and a green layers, preferably pullets.

Also, here are a few pics of my newest addition!!!

I don't even have to drive the half to the city, I could drive the 7 minutes to Cranberry Twp and have some laying hens.

Good Morning, PA Peeps. I just wanted to give you all a heads up about the Maryland Swap Meet coming up in two weeks. It's located in western MD and is a ton of fun with a very large crowd. Out of state poultry sellers must be either NPIP or have appropriate testing done to sell. Here's the BYC link to more info https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...erer-dr-peter-brown-and-apa-judge-paul-gilroy

now that does sound like a lot of FUN!
