Well folks:

Been a tad hectic on the chicken front....4wk olds will be out side on the weekend for a meet and great with the adults...because of the foxes being a PIA my two roos  are in separate coops and have started fighting through the fence...I have one day old and will pick up a couple of day old to hang with her...aside from that one of my CCLs has gone broody on a hand full of eggs and I have just set x13 Dorkings, x5 bared Hollands and x4 CCLs....chicken math gone wild......

You wouldn't happen to want to swap a few eggs would you? It will take me a couple weeks (I need to set another batch & ship a batch) but I have turkey eggs available: blue slate or mixed heritage.

@Dheltzel gave me some eggs today to put under my broody. When I came back and removed her golf balls, she decided it was time for a break and got off the nest. I put the eggs in the nest and went back to work, I suspected she wouldn't get dissuaded so easily. Sure enough, when I came home, she was back on the nest like a good girl! Now just to wait for peeps! :yiipchick

Silkie:

No turkeys for me....I'm too suburban....PM me what you are looking for, I may be able to just give you some....

All:

Just picked up two Colombian Wyandottes at Pickering...they asked me for my address and phone....seem the state AG wants documentation on who has chooks...guess the AI thing has everyone concerned...hope there's no outbreaks in Chester Co....

I have x6 4wk olds going out side tomorrow to meet the big girls...and will have supervised free ranging for the crew....expect the roos to swap some paint....should I break them up or just intervene if one gets too beat up???

I have my three one day olds......

a broody on a handful of eggs

and and incubator with two dozen set....

They've been taking names and addresses at tractor supply for at least the last four years. Makes sense in case of AI outbreaks, honestly.
