gene said they were going to start the swap again on the 16th but i hadn't checked the website yet, but glad it will start again, missed it![]()
Okay... I am trying to decide if I should go to this. I will be 1 1/2 hours away in Weirton, WV on the 15th. Normally it would be a 4 hour drive. So I could leave my husband and kids at my mother-in-laws, zip down and zip back. It starts at 7:00, so I would need to leave at 5:30ish... I'm willing to do it, but how big is big? I don't really have anything to sell just looking to increase my flock for egg production. I'm looking to have a variety of egg colors. Are there good prices? Mostly adult birds or chicks too? Or is the fall show better to attend?
Thanks!
Lori
I definitely recommend you come, especially if you'll be that close. It's big, and this one will be even bigger because of it being cancelled and this one being the first one back. I can't really describe how big, I don't know how to compare it to anything really. Anything you can think of besides emus is sold there. Prices are good, and you can often get people to lower it. There's a few people who always sell red sex links at POL.
ETA pics for an idea of how big it is.
These are the whole fairgrounds
And this is the section where the swappers congregate EXCEPT for the grassy part at the top of the picture outside the gate. However, this one may be so busy that sellers overflow out into there. It never has since I started going to swaps about two years ago, but you never know (I doubt it).
