I started out with about 10 chickens and about 30 chicks this spring, now I'm down to 4 hens and 2 roosters due to raccoon

. I finally got the raccoon situation under control, but only have 2 hens laying now, barely enough for the family.
Anyone willing to sell me a couple young hens or pullets in my area?

There's a rooster crowing in Allentown right now! Woops! Hope none of my moms neighbors complain before we leave on Sunday to take him down to CC. On one hand, the crowing makes me feel like home, on the other hand, Bino can really crow! He crows for about 45 minutes straight in the morning. My Romeo crows all day and night, but usually just one or two crows and he's done... Bino just crows and crows and crows, lol.

I miss his big deep crow... I have all bantam roos so there arent any manly crows around here. But I dont miss how stupid and annoying and mean he was.

What was really funny was having a rooster crowing in the middle of Miracle Mile Shopping Center with all he windows down! Got some strange looks, thank god I didn't see anyone I knew!

For anyone going to the Uniontown Swap tomorrow:

I have 4 turkey ppults available just under a week old for $15 each & 1 just under 3 weeks for $17. These are bronze & red slate. Anyone interested please PM me. I will NOT be bringing them unless someone wants them & can pick up before 9am. They are too fragile to sit out in the weather or in my hot truck all day.

Also considering bringing my pair of india blue peafowl & my pair of pilgrim geese (@wingstone) if anyone is interested in them. I really don't want to part with them but need the money.

I will also have a cabinet style incubator (scientific model but works for eggs) & an old Franklin woodstove...IF I can find help getting them on the truck. Both are HEAVY!!

And if I find time to get them cleaned up, I'll have 3-4 styrofoam bators for sale too.

Plus a crapload of chicks ages 3 weeks to 4 months.

I'm sorry but it looks like you're about 4 hours away from me :/ there are a lot of people over your way though so maybe someone can help you out.

I got to meet @dheltzel today and he brought me some babies I know I said that my last ones would be the last of the year but I couldn't resist. Now have 5 new babies in the brooder again lol. They look so tiny in there!

Wow, that's so sad...you do need more girls or your boys may come to blows.....(its happened to me)...I think the best resources are going to be DH on here and "Sally Sunshine" in Berks......(there may be others).....my two cents...

Anyone have any interest in a black, possibly lavender split ameraucana roo? I have 2 extra boys. Roughly 17 or 18 weeks old. They're handsome boys and I'd rather not eat them if someone had an interest in them lol.

It's lots of fun meeting people on here in the real world. Those chicks certainly moved up from the (comparatively) tiny brooder in my basement. I can just tell those chicks are going to produce a lot of fertile eggs for you to hatch and sell.
