I have bantam Cochins so should I just be patient or should they have produced atleast one by now?? Like I said I haven't put a light on them I'm just letting nature be nature or is that my flaw?? Ugh I wish they would just start laying already!! Do you think maybe I should try giving them more protein?

I have a bantam cochin hen. She was hatched on 05/04/12. She is not laying yet. Her face/comb/wattles are not even red yet. She might not lay until spring. I don't put lights on my ladies. I feel like if they need a break, I will let them have one.

About protein, what are you feeding them? brand? type? For example Purina Layena Crumbles. When was she hatched? Do you give treats? Do you feel like you ladies "eat" there food? If its not a layer formula do you have oyster shell out? Do you give them leftovers?

I love the fact you posted picture of you chickenshittens!!! They are actually really good quality. I feel like I can smell them too!!! LOL

These are produced from the caecum of the chicken and are mustard to dark brown froth. They are expelled every 8 to 10 droppings.
