Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I am going to be moving to PA in the near future. If anyone knows of a small acreage with a house and barn, for rent, please let me know. We have small house dogs, an inside cat, and one horse and chickens to put in the barn. I am employed and will transfer with the job. Please pm me if you have any leads.

Edited to add the area I am looking at: Greensburg, Mt. Pleasant, North Huntington, Delmont, Latrobe.

Welcome! Sorry, I don't know any thing about these areas.

I will add that if you lurk around the paint center at the home centers, you will find a place where they sell paint the was tinted wrong or otherwise "seconds", and this is way cheaper than the stuff on the shelf.

Yes! I got my gallon of really good exterior paint for something like $7. I did not get to pick the color but the price was worth it and the color was fine.

Choo choo! Chicken train is getting ready to depart from the Allentown station!

Wow thats impressive especially when you throw in some kids and clothes for them.

Thats where we got our last two gallons of coop paint as well.

I live 10 minutes from Delmont and 30 minutes from Greensburg! Let me know if you need enabled!

At 7:00 the chicken train successfully arrived at the bedford stop :) I'm now 3 chicks, one roo, and one very unhappy tom heavier. That poor tom keeps trying to break out of the big garage brooder and smashing his head off the lid :/ I had to anchor it. Hopefully, he knocks some sense into himself.

At least it's dark out. That should quiet him soon.
Do the CCL's look like they traveled ok?
That roo seemed really easy to handle when I was catching him. I hope he works out well for you (and Sky).

They seem just fine and adorable :) I have them in a crate in the screen porch with a thick blanket covering most of it. I put plastic on all the screens today too (except the door). Think they'll be ok out there? The roo's breathing is a bit raspy. I'm hoping it's just from being in the box for so long. He is really unique looking.

ETA: that little CCL cockerel that was in with the girls is a little wild man! He kept making escape attempts lol

Your roo seemed fine when I fed everyone this morning... thinking about where I had his box positioned in the van now and his was wedged in pretty well on three sides during the drive so some of his air holes were blocked. I hope his breathing improves overnight, I'd feel terrible if my packing skills/lapse in judgment hurt that handsome guy.

And yes! that little CCL cockerel is VERY spritely... I'm glad I was ready for him, or we would have been chasing him around the parking lot! He tried to escape every time I opened the crate to give them food and water so I knew to watch him closely at the hand-off. Better keep your eye on him Chaos18, he's going to be a handful!
