Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

So I met up with Tillypeeps' husband to pick up my eggs from dheltzel (thank you @dheltzel and @TillyPeeps ) and couldn't resist going in to look at the babies....of course we left with 6 of them lol. We kinda had to though. We walked in and Katelyn saw an adordable little white silkie in the bantams bin and since she just lost her little Cookie the other day, I get it for her. Fingers crossed now that it's a pullet

I now have 4 extra silkies (my son wanted a RIR pullet). Anyone want them? Lol
You are welcome! Don't forget to post baby pictures.

I do have 2 others out in the big brooder that are only a couple weeks older than these ones that I'm keeping. Honestly, it doesn't matter if it's a cockerel or pullet. Katelyn is 100% set on this specific one (made me band it and all!) Lol.

My husband is going to have a heart attack when he comes home and sees a million eggs on the table and six more chicks in the brooder. BUT, the kids did want ducks and he is dead set against them so I'll remind him that he's lucky that I didn't just get them ducks instead

He may even never notice the difference. That's how I could get my Welbar girl. DH said to me: How many will we get? 6? We decided to get 5 before, but I answered: Yes, 6! So I added Penny the Welbar to my order.

I'm not allowed to pick a favorite, so I just picked a potential trouble maker instead.

Brownie is the only one attempted to escape from brooder.

We try to not pick favorites....but it rarely works, it seems every hatch has a 'greeter'....that one chick who is first to run out from under mama to see what is going on, the first to beg, the first to jump on our hand or foot to get food or attention. Those 'greeters' are hard to resist and usually first to get a name.

You're like me, I see -- the ones that are the most difficult are the ones that I get the most attached to! Unless it's a bad roo... Then we become close in other ways.

The Easter chicken train is a go! It rolls out of Allentown on Tuesday after Easter. Pick up at dheltzel's, drop offs at Bedford and Beaver County. I don't have a lot of room for big crates this trip, but I can manage small packages if anyone else is wanting some Eater chicks ;)

So, I just dropped $100 at MurrayMcMurray... Mostly Cornish roasters, but I was hoping to pick up a few more black australorps since I'm down to just one good layer (two of my BA ladies are retiring this year) and they are sold out until May. I can't incubate right now, but I was wondering if anyone was hatching BAs for the Easter hatch along and could part with a few chicks. Chaos18?

Sorry I only have BA pullets. The only guy (he was also a SLW) that could have serviced them landed himself in the stock pot a couple weeks ago. I'll be hatching Dominiques, Silver Pencil Rocks, Partridge rocks and Ancona ducks for the HAL.

CHICKEN TRAIN! WOO WOO!

if anyone wants any turkey eggs or poults, let me know. I'll have bourbon buffs, red bronze, and possible Bourbon reds. Or any chicken eggs but they'd be mixed. Most would be ameraucana mixes (or pures, it depends lol).

Of course, that is if the chicken train is rolling through the same way and we could meet again.

Bummer... I have a pair, but I can't tell her eggs apart from anyone else's! And, we don't have an incubator quite yet - hoping it will be filled with fertile turkey eggs when we do finally get one.

Depends who would want what... I'm pretty sure I am meeting brightpennies at the same stop we met last time... If anyone east of you wants anything we'd need to meet the Thursday before Easter... Points west would be Tuesday ;)
