Great !!
I really like the Mottled Blacks the best of all the colors I have. Very striking birds, even more so as they get older.

:hugs I'm sorry that happened, but your life is richer for having had them. I suppose from now on you should stick with chicken eggs when your hen goes broody.
Turkeys are different. I have a stubbornly broody turkey hen and while I'd so like to see her leading around a group of youngin's, I'm pretty sure she'd make a terrible mother. She is rather charmingly "stupid", if you know what I mean.

I'm so so sorry for your loss :(

Thanks guys. I would like to try turkeys again in the future, but when I have more room to let them roam. :). Yep, chicken eggs for my next broody.

Hay, are there any vets on here?
I have a 2 month old chick that is just laying on her side she can't stand up. I checked for broken bones none but she feels thin she made it through the night but just barely. Is there anything I can do or should I just end the suffering? Any advice will be appreciated.

No the only other thing is she has the runs.

In not a very and very rarely test my birds, but am overload of worms is possible. Not sure if it could be cocci at that age.

I have the perfect eggs for you to give to your broody next time she get in the mood for mothering -- guineas !!

Just kidding, it's a special kind of insanity that afflicts people with guineas.

I'm sure to have something for her to hatch whenever she is ready.

I just got some pics of our Pomeranian geese for a craigslist ad and decided to share them here. If anyone's in NEPA and interested in goose hatching eggs or eating eggs and me a PM. I threw some in the incubator with some Khaki Campbell duck eggs last week and they're all going strong and will hopefully hatch April 14-17. :)

Impressive! Glad you did share the pictures, I had never heard of pomeranian geese, are they primarily for eggs or are they dual purpose?
