Goats are entertaining and very relaxing. Fencing, on the other hand, not so much.

Many days I just go sit in the paddock with an apple and enjoy their love. ( OK, they just want the Apple, but that's OK). Makes the day's worries fade.
Ahhh yes, this is therapy for the soul. Lately, I've been so overwhelmed with chores, that I find myself stressing about what I 'should' be doing while I'm grazing the goats... I've got to get in a better mind set before taking them out.

I have six foot fencing covered in deer netting. In my dreams, I will walk the goat often with Duckling.

I hope today is better, and Chiques is right, goat(s), ~ You can never have just one.

On the duck topic - I have some duck eggs incubating and the first batch looks like only 1 is viable. Maybe I'm worrying prematurely since it might not hatch, but can a single duckling live with chicks or poults ? Normally, I would brood them separately, but by herself would not be good, right? Is the main issue with brooding them together that mess that ducklings make?

The mess and that ducklings require extra niacin.

I have not had a problem with the ducklings being in with the chickens. Everyone is on an all flock raiser which has enough niacin. The coop is big enough that the wet stayed in one area, in the back, where the ducklings had their water container.
