I just saw my broody get off the nest to eat and stretch. I checked on her eggs and we have a pip!! I'm guarding her nest here until she gets back. Stupid broody girl!

Edited to add, it is the egg all the way to the left., dont think you can see it in the pic but I dont want to disturb it. I can hear peeps!

@fisherlady, my BIL was up the other day and he saw Ana waking around with her baby. After a few minutes he said, "Why does that chicken always have a baby with her? Does it not grow?" Her broodiness is being noticed by the non chicken folk lol. We had to explain to him that she not happy unless she's raising something and had to show him her last babies running around all grown up :)

Cosmo looks like he's having the time of his life! They all look very happy and healthy.
I love those broodies too, hoping mine will have something to mother soon.
Looks great! How many chickens do you have so far?

I have the original 8 RIR, 4 Banty mixes, and the 15 chicks. 12 of the babies are Wyandotte gold, red, blue, silver, and I think one splash and 3 Easter eggers! Can't wait for more!

She must know what she's doing, she got some nibbles and then came back quickly. She might have been off for ten minutes or less. :D

It's is addicting, isn't it? I had to but a bigger home with more property. Well maybe there were other reasons...

@fisherlady. Love those pics! You have quite the operation going on there for sure. Any news on what you would like me to do with the eggs? I'm afraid they'll get smelly soon!

And in other critter news, got my second double yolker from Dheltzel's famous CCLs. Ouch!

Why do they insist in being on the deck and right next to the kitchen door? I just cleaned the deck. Lol :p

I keep reading about broody hens and incubating eggs and I can't wait to try! The hens we inherited have never been broody I don't think but my Wyandotte chicks might!
