That is a good mistake. It means you have enough FF for a while!
Out of curiosity, are you making really wet FF you have to strain, or dryer?
I liked it wet for the dog and my small flock. When I was feeding five or more gallons daily, I made it dryer.

Yes, I am, how did you know?
Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a man below. He descended a bit more and shouted,
"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man below replied, "You are in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."
"You must be an engineer," said the balloonist.
"I am," replied the man, "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help so far."
The man below responded, "You must be a manager."
"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know."
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The fact is, you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault."

Haha, that's a really good one.

Set 426 eggs tonight. Buying another cabinet incubator tomorrow. Might be getting out of control.
Decided I didn't *need* more chicks, so skipping the deal on cochins for now.

First one I had to strain. This batch was dryer but then I added some more water. You ferment dog food too?

I'm so glad they have you. How old are they? They don't seem to have horns, were they disbudded?

@ dhetzel, did you order those Bantam Cochins?

She said 5 months but there's a pretty decent size difference so I'm not sure if they are same age. Is it horrible for me to say I don't know about the horns. It honestly didn't even cross my mind till I noticed the big guy was bleeding from one of them a little today. Just finally sat down long enough to read up about it.

Ummmm, feeling dumb here. What does the LF in "LF lavender ams" mean? I think I want. I am going to have to get myself a wish list going. Let's see, a LF lavender ams, a blue lace red wyandotte, a dark egg layer of some sort. That should do for this year. I will probably let my broody hatch out whatever mutts get bred this spring/summer. Not that I want to, but will probably get rid of 3 of the older girls. They did great for 2 years. Maybe they can stay as mascots. It's not like we're starving or anything. But if they stay, I'm going to need to step up the egg sales.

First egg! Our son thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Congrats! What a beauty!
Best of luck! Did you set any mottled Blacks? The pictures online are so pretty, if I get a hen, I might keep her... Don't tell my hubby... My new coop is 10x12, but it is filling up fast... But then again, so did my small one, which was 4x4. Hope all goes well and that your bill is not too big! :hugs I for one, am shocked at the fact that their are little peeps in this picture. :smack
I ended up with 8 of 12 hatching. 2 mottled blacks, 1 royal palm, and 5 bourbon buffs. I set ALL the turkey eggs, always lol
Sweet! Do you sell your turkeys?
You do know where you can get some LF lavender ams not too far from you, right? I have them seperated and giving me eggs :) First batch of chicks should hatch next week;)
Actually I didn't realize you had the LF....hhmmmm...I may get in touch with you the next broody we get. :)
Which means she'll call you tomorrow Aurora. :duc

Okay, but I still expect a connection for banty Cochins in the future. :p

@dheltzel @Auroradream26. Here are pics from tonight, since I was away until 20 minutes ago, the humidity has dropped to 15%. Tomorrow is lockdown. Suggestions? Am the eggs doomed to fail?
