133 chicks out of the hatchers this morning!
Includes 16 Silver Ameraucanas. I need to get pics of these, they are the cutest little things.

Yay! I can't wait to start hatching my own. I'm really hoping my Banty hens and my frizzled Banty roo give me some babies.

I think it's a feed very high in protein, similar to 'feather fixer'.

Are you going to wether your bucklings? Banding is quite easy, I wish you were closer, I've got bands and banders.

Yeah we have a friend coming to show us how so we can know in future. Let the boys out of pen yesterday and they followed me into the coop and found their food... 15 min later I was still trying to get them out. My little zappa was not happy lol.

Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures!

Thank Gawd! cause I was on board (for real this time), and the last thing I need is another coop. I have a soft spot for Bantam Cochin chicks, they look like they're wearing footy pajamas

And....more info on the Cabinet please...is it that ginormous one that's been on Craig's list? Or are you getting another Dickey? I was on the fence about committing to a Dickey and I have a friend who is going to lend me a Sportsman, just so I can see if a cabinet is for me. I wonder if we could save on shipping if we got Dickeys at the same time?

A cabinet is for ANYONE! Once you have one, you'll never look back lol. Wow, I sound like an addict!

So our local grocery store had these ginormous apples for sale, a bag of two for .99. They are so big! I just had to share. For reference, next. to apple is a Bielefelder egg.

Edited for spelling.

Should I break my broody turkey or give her a few eggs to try to hatch? She seems determined, and I bet if I made her a nest, she might stay in one place. @dheltzel. Do you have any turkey eggs you'd be willing to sell me? I will be in Pottstown next week for lunch.

Strange, I got another membrane egg yesterday. I can't figure out who laid it! The only possible suspects would be an old Silkie hen, or a new broody momma. Both seem unlikely to me, but I can't figure out who it is, because the others seemed to have all laid eggs.
