I think they are good now. My brooder temps out okay I think tractor supply didn't have it warm enough for them. Think I might call and mention it to them tomorrow but not sure if they'd care. The ones from Corey are fine. But almost everyone from peach steet had to get it cleaned off this morning.

I'm so sorry, ugh poor chickies!

They will be okay for a few days. Some treats may help, but just remember, some chickens spend their whole lives being penned up. Ours live a lovely life, and a few days of being "grounded" won't hurt them.

Thanks for reminding me... I hope it warms up soon!

With everyone sharing pictures of their babies, I thought I would share mine.
Outside, I have 7 hens: 2 Buff Orpington, 2 speckled sussex, 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Easter Egger, and 1 unknown breed who doesn't have any butt feathers. There aren't any recent pictures of them because it has been too cold!

Anyhow in the house I have 7 chicks: 2 BO, 3 SSxBO, 1 RIRxBO, and the ?xBO.

This is Dopey (the name fits the personality), my favorite big boy. Buff Orpington.

This is our prettiest one, the unknown breed mama x BO roo. We'll see what she grows up to be!

He is going to be a handsome boy! And she has a beautiful face!

Anyone near Pittsburgh selling and Egg Layers? Rhode Island Reds? Barred Rocks? Anything? i'm looking to buy 6 or so, and really dont want to pay shipping charges, i'd rather drive, let my son have the experience of Picking up chicks.

I've got a couple of marans I am thinning out from the flock, got 25 now including 6 peeps , more eggs than I need, near McDonald

So my coop is not insulated but I have closed all but 1 vent to help keep the cold wind from getting in. When I go inside with the girls it is pretty warm. My only concern is them getting bored. Is that a problem with chickens? I give them food to scratch around for on the ground, but other than that they don't have any toys. Any suggestions? They have been in for a few days already and will probably be in until Friday. Poor girls! I hope this is the last winter storm this year!

flock block works well

X2  You can also skewer fresh vegetables or fruits on a string and hang them so the birds can peck at and eat them.

I like that one!
Here are my babies today! They are all much more active. Can't get over how tiny the Bantams are. Wish I knew what they are. I'm not good with surprises! Going to look up how to do the heating pad brooder for these guys I think.

Surprises are good! If they don't have feathers on their feet, I would guess Old English Game bantams, the most common colors with the chipmunk stripes are Silver Duckwing and Black Breasted Red (sometimes called "BB Red"). Look those up for pictures of the adults.
