I only had 6 chickens, so I used 4 ferment jars. Never had any problem with the food. I believe it helps the overall health of the birds. So I have decided that the broody turkey hen in my coop is acting as a nanny for the broody mama with the two poults. She had them under her last night while the broody chicken mama was perched on the roost.Here they are playing with the turkey. She doesn't mind at all.
