Okay, so I really want to raise some chickens for meat.  I know it will be tough when processing day comes, but  I really want good quality meat.  I would like to try these guys, since I just want to allow them to free range.  Should I get them in about a week or so?  I figure that way, I can process in May.  Going to start with 10, since I'm a bit nervous. Any suggestions?  I will be doing all processing myself, unless I can get a friend to stop by, which is unlikely.

Get them soon, when free ranged they will probably grow to size slightly slower but should do good for you. Start reading the butchering day support group thread, that should cover most questions. Ask for anything it doesn't answer.
